Privacy Policy
Aldwell is a shared maintenance workspace for small self-managed condo and co-op boards. It's run by Derlen Chiu, an individual, referred to here as "we." This policy explains what information Aldwell handles and why. Aldwell is in an early pilot, and some features described here are still being built.
Information we collect
- Account details: your email address, and your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google.
- Building records: what your Board adds, such as Units, Unit owners and their contact details, Vendors, Assets, Jobs, Documents and Notices.
- Forwarded email: messages and attachments sent to your Building's inbox address, including sender details and any personal information they contain.
- Technical information: IP address, browser details, request logs and error reports, which keep the service secure and working.
How we use information
- To sign you in and keep your session secure.
- To provide Aldwell, including reading Documents and proposing details for your Board to confirm.
- To send sign-in links, invitations, reminders and digests.
- To fix problems, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations.
We don't sell personal information, and we don't use it for advertising. Aldwell uses cookies only to keep you signed in.
Google user data
If you choose Google sign-in, we receive your name, email address and profile picture. We use them only to create and identify your account. We don't request access to your Gmail. We don't sell this data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models. We share it only with the service providers below that run Aldwell, and we keep it until your account is deleted.
Aldwell's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Who can see your information
Building records, including Unit owner contact details, are visible only to that Building's Board members. We use these service providers to run Aldwell, and they process information on our behalf:
- Vercel: hosting
- Supabase: database, sign-in and file storage
- Postmark: sending and receiving email
- Cloudflare: domain, DNS and support email forwarding
- Sentry: error reports
- Google: sign-in, if you choose it
- Anthropic: reading Documents and email to propose details, once that feature launches
- Inngest: background jobs, once those features launch
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect people or the service, or as part of a transfer of Aldwell to a new owner. Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where these providers operate.
Keeping and deleting information
We keep Building records while the Building uses Aldwell. When a Building leaves, it can export its records first, and we delete them within 30 days. Backups can take longer to clear. Some information may be kept where the law requires it.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information by emailing us. If you're a Unit owner, your Board controls your details in its records, so please contact your Board first. You can also contact us, and we'll help or pass your request to your Board.
Security
We use encrypted connections, access controls that separate each Building's records, and limited access to systems. No service is completely secure, so we can't guarantee security.
Children
Aldwell is for adults, and isn't directed at children.
Changes
We'll post changes here and update the date above. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we'll tell you first, and ask for your consent where it's required.
